We were asked to move apartments. Our old apartment was on the second story, up about seven stairs. We had a beautiful view out of our sliding glass doors and small balcony. We had old carpet, and appliances. Now we have a newly refurbished apartment...in the dungeon! We look out into other apartments. It is still beautiful here. My apartment feels like it is underground. Although it is only like a daylight basement on one side (the bedroom and study) but the parking lot is another 4-6 feet higher than my windows so they planted a bunch of shrubs between the asphalt and our window. I look into the roots of the shrubs and cannot even see the driveway! That is why I call it the dungeon! I have claustrophobia and have had a very difficult time living in this apartment. I tried to pray away the feelings I had and asked Heavenly Father to bless me to overcome the closed in feeling. I decided I would not go into those rooms except when time to sleep. I took my computer out to the kitchen table. Not really a good place because I have to move it everytime we eat. So I got a card table and put it in the living room right in front of the sliding glass door where I could see out. That helped....but I still had times of crying. I tried to cry only when Dean could not see me. He does not know what to do with me when I cry. So I fasted for myself on fast sunday! That helped and I did well for a couple of days. The gray weather is hard to take too. I sure miss Saint George Sunshine! Then one day I was struggling with everything closing in on me. Dean asked what he could do to help...I needed a blessing! He gave me a beautiful blessing and within minutes I was feeling better. Later in the day, I was doing great! I am able to go into the study and sit at the desk and not struggle. I know it is a blessing just for me. I know it a blessing from Heavenly Father for my mission. I am truly thankful. I am such a mental mess and heaven tries to straighten me out!
So now, we live in a remodeled apartment with all new appliances. It has been repainted and has new carpet in the bedrooms, woodlook vinyl in the rest of the apartment. The missionaries came and carried all of our stuff from one apartment to the new one. I had packed a lot of it into boxes already. It was so nice of them. We are blessed!
I have not posted on the blog for about 3 weeks. A lot has happened and I may not be able to recreate those happenings but will try a little at a time.
