Luke 4-14 Lots to learn here

Luke 4:16-30  Jesus goes to the synagog to read, as such was the tradition of the Jews.  They opened the book to Isaiah and handed it to him to read.  He finds the verses where Isaiah prophecies of the Messiah.  Then at the end of the reading He tells them, "This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears."

He testified to the Jews that He was the Messiah but they had seen him grow up.  They thought him only the son of Joseph.  Plainly told but unbelieving.  All of the Holy Scriptures testify that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.  Plainly they testify of His miracles, blessing and His atonement and resurrection.  But many today question.  HOW DO YOU KNOW JESUS CHRIST IS THE SON OF GOD, YOUR SAVIOR AND REDEEMER?

I know!  I know because I have asked for and received His healing power in my life.  He has calmed my storms, healed my infirm body, and forgiven my sins that I might go forth to testify and help others to know! The Holy Ghost has borne witness to me many times.  The Holy Scriptures have testified to my heart.  I have come to know the Savior in special spiritual experiences as I have travelled mortality!  I KNOW He is the Son of God!  He is MY SAVIOR!  I love Him!

Luke 7:36-50 A Pharisee invites Christ to dinner.  A woman comes behind Jesus and kneels down, washes his feet with her tears and anoints him with oil.  She shows her love for the Savior by her acts of devotion.  We cannot touch see or feel the physical Savior...how do we show our devotion to Him?
An interesting thing happened here, as the woman was kneeling there washing the Savior's feet, Simon thought to himself "This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner."

I found a tiny treasure here.  Simon spake to himself, not aloud.  But the Savior knew Simon's thoughts.  The important part for each of us to think about is that the Savior and Heavenly Father also know OUR THOUGHTS!  How important is it that we keep our thoughts clean and pure?  How does the Lord feel when we think bad things about other people around us.  I testify that as our love for the Savior increases, our thoughts and actions also draw near the Lord.  We become new through the atonement of Jesus Christ as we repent. (and it feels good)

Luke 10:30-37 The Good Samaritan:  We all know the story. A man was robbed, stripped, wounded and left half-dead along the well travelled road.  Have you ever been taken advantage of or had something stolen?  Has your heart or body been broken or wounded?  Have you felt like you could go no more through this life and it's perilous times?  Have you ever had a time you were half-dead spiritually?

The good Samaritan had compassion and took oil and wine which represent healing powers. Then the Samaritan PAID THE PRICE!  Can you clearly see the Good Samaritan as a symbol of Jesus Christ in our lives?  HE has compassion on us in all circumstances.  HE is ready to help us, to heal us and to take us where others can help us to recover.  Then, NEVER FORGET...HE PAID THE PRICE!
The price for our sins so that we can return to Heavenly Father.  No matter what happens to us in life, Jesus Christ can save us!  Has Jesus Christ healed YOU?

I ASK MYSELF...What are my acts of devotion?  How does the Lord know my FAITH?
