Don't tell my Mama!

Do you remember "Switchblade Sam" from the movie Dennis the Menace?  He was the scary guy that Dennis tied up. Well his twin came to church today!  We went to Redmond Stake Conference and planned to go to the other YSA ward Bellevue chapel in time to attend Sunday School and RS/Priesthood.  When we arrived at the chapel Fast and Testimony Meeting was still going.  We asked questioningly, "Sacrament meeting is still going?"  The people in the lobby said that there was a new guy there today. At the end of the testimonies, as Bishop was closing the meeting, this guy came up and said he wanted to talk.  Bishop told him that it was time to close the meeting but he could have two or three minutes.  He told the Bishop it would take him five minutes. Hmmmmmm what do you do?

So when we got there (five minutes after the meeting should be adjourned) he was still talking.  Then you could hear the Bishop get up and ask him to end.  The man said to him, "I am not done yet."  He apparently talked 8-9 minutes when the Bishop got up again and asked him to finish as we had other meetings to attend.

So Dean and I go to our Gospel Principles class.  It was great but shortened by 15 minutes or more.
I went straight to RS.  It was a regular opening with song and prayer.  The RS Pres started the lesson then assigned us to groups to talk about a part of the lesson.  Our group had just finished discussion and I was standing up at the back of the room straightening my chair.

In the door of the RS room comes a strange man about 50+ years old.  He has on a tan suit (with food stains on the lapel and soiled pants) I went to him, introduced myself as Sister Baxter and told him this meeting was for the women.  The men were across the hall.  He said, "I want to be in here."  HMMMMMMMM what do you say?   I looked at him and said, "It is not appropriate for you to be here"...I took his elbow and said, "Come with me I will help you find where the men are meeting."  He pulled his arm away and looked me in the eye (sort of a glare) and said, "No, you don't get it...I have been prompted!  I am supposed to be here!"   YIKES! Now what????

I said, "Then you sit right here next to me."  I was situated on the back row and there were no young women by me since we had messed up the chairs for our circle.  I thought that was the safest place.  As I sat there I was praying my heart out!   OHHHHH HEAVENLY FATHER, HELP ME!  Help me know what to do and what to say.  Help me be prepared.  This man sitting next to me was agitated.  He moved and jerked and had a quarter that he kept flipping up in the air and catching or missing and picking off the floor. I am having visions of the Cokeville Miracle movie!

I am still praying!  Then the door to the RS room opens and there stands Brother Blakely of the Bishopric.  He looks at the man and points to him and says, "Come with me I want to talk to you."  The man says, no!  Brother B comes closer to us and says..."YOU come with me.  I want to talk to you in the hallway."  The man got up and went with him.  WHEW, I was so relieved and thankful.  I bowed my head and thanked Heavenly Father.  I have thanked him many times since.  TENDER MERCIES OF THE LORD!  Watching over us.

I was talking to Sister Blakely and she said that when the man told Brother B that he was prompted...Bro. B told him NO YOU weren't.  That was just some quirky feeling you had, you do not belong in there.  He never did go in where the Brothers were.  I do not know where he went.

Thank you all for your prayers in our behalf!
