Mark 5-7 Christ heals many, raises the dead and feeds thousands

In Mark 5:36 Jesus says, "Be not afraid, only believe."  The story of Jairus who besought Jesus asking Him to come and heal his daughter is relevant to all of us.  Sometimes we pray to the Lord to answer our prayers the way we think we want them to be answered.  In the story of Jairus he fell at the feet of Jesus  and asked him to come, lay His hands on her and heal his little daughter (immediately).  Then, on the way to Jairus's house, the people throng Jesus and want to be with him.  A woman of great faith who did not want to take His time or bother the Savior with her request, thinks to herself, if I can just touch the hem of His garment I know I can be healed!  It must have been difficult for her to get near enough to touch him.  As she reached through the people she was able to touch, just the hem of His robe.  She felt the power!   She was healed immediately.  She knew her issue of blood had dried up!  She was amazed and grateful.  In the crowd of people Jesus felt her faith.  He knew!  Jesus felt the power leave Him.   He could feel the power of her faith and prayers and healing.

I know that Faith is a power.
I have felt it.  I know thatI felt the same kind of power as I knelt pleading for Tonya's life as she lay unconscious.  I have felt that power heal my mother who was in the hospital with viral neuritis.  She had lost all the feeling in her body and no one knew why.  She felt that same power!  And was healed.  I have seen our family blessed by the power of Faith in Jesus Christ and the Priesthood.  I know that all miracles come through Faith in Jesus Christ.  It is not just faith.  It is Faith in Jesus Christ and His ability to heal us. It is when our Faith in Jesus Christ is sufficient to move us to action, that we can be healed both spiritually and physically.  (Almost all the miracles performed by Jesus were as a result of people acting on their faith.  Jairus was a Jewish leader but put aside peer pressure and fell at Jesus's feet.)

Now, if I were Jairus, I would be worried about how long it was taking to get home to my daughter.  The message the Savior gave to the woman...was a message for Jairus and all of us too!
"Thy Faith hath made thee whole" we must continue to believe and not get distracted by things.  He will heal us in His time.  He will bless us with all we desire but we must trust that He has the big picture and knows better than we, what is best.  He did.  He raised Jairus's daughter from the dead!  Her father and mother's faith and patience were rewarded!  (but not in the way they had anticipated.)  I have trouble sometimes with the patience part.

One of our students made a great comment:  "Priesthood power is not bound by earthly laws...the
miracle of loaves and fishes, raising people from the dead, healing the leper, the blind and the palsy.  It is a solemn reminder to each of us that what is unexplainable to men and seems impossible...is not beyond the Power of God!
When we give our all to the Lord, he can multiply our loaves and fishes, he can heal our broken hearts and make us whole!  He can do the impossible if we totally submit to His will.
He is the Son of God and has power and authority to bless us as we come unto Him!
