Jesus walks on water...

In Matthew 14 is a wonderful testimony from Matthew of the Savior walking on the water...
The twelve were on a boat going across the sea of Galilee, the seas were "contrary" that means it was
stormy and they were being tossed and blown.  Then they look out and see something on the water,
they are afraid!  Then the Savior speaks, "Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid."
Peter is the one who, recognizing His voice, asks "If it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water."

The Savior said one word, "Come."

Peter was such a man that he believed anything was possible with the Savior!  He got out of the boat and walked on the water!   That to me is the impossible...made possible through Jesus Christ!

We have a friend who has an autistic son.  One day a friend came over to her house because things in her life were hard.  She was crying to my friend, sharing her deep concerns and sorrows.  The tears flowed as they talked.  This autistic boy walked nervously around the room, in and out of where they were talking.  He has a hard time talking or expressing himself but was feeling what was going on in their conversation.  Then he walked over to the bookshelf, removed the gospel art folder and started going through the pictures.  He chose one, walked over to the friend and gave her the picture of Jesus walking on the water.  Quietly, ever so quietly he whispered..."He calms my storms!"  At that moment the Spirit was so strong, the message so powerful!  Taught by the Spirit, through a child, the message is for you and I... When the storms of our lives come we can turn to Jesus Christ and He will reach out for our hand.  He will lift us from the storms that try to beset us!  He can calm the seas of our lives when things blow and the trials lap at our feet.  I know that someday we will see that  the trials we work through are actually blessings to us as we turn to the Savior for help!
Never doubt!  The Savior is always there reaching out to help us.  Then he calmed the winds...

Be like Peter, believe anything is possible through Jesus Christ!

  1. Another great blessing. I have seen other young people with similar problems but they know the Savior with out question. In fact I believe the Savior visits these very special people because they told me that He does.

Love you two! Wish we could be there with you but that will have to be another time!
