Matthew 24-25. Am I ready to meet the Lord?

Info taken from Joseph Smith Matthew 1: 31-40 and Matthew 24-25
As recorded in Matthew 24:42–51, the Savior taught His disciples to be watchful and ready for His coming. In modern revelation we are told that if we are prepared, we need not fear (see D&C 38:30). Elder Dallin H. Oaks encouraged us to be prepared always for the Second Coming:
“While we are powerless to alter the fact of the Second Coming and unable to know its exact time, we can accelerate our own preparation and try to influence the preparation of those around us.
“What if the day of His coming were tomorrow? If we knew that we would meet the Lord tomorrow—through our premature death or through His unexpected coming—what would we do today? What confessions would we make? What practices would we discontinue? What accounts would we settle? What forgivenesses would we extend? What testimonies would we bear?"
“If we would do those things then, why not now? Why not seek peace while peace can be obtained? If our lamps of preparation are drawn down, let us start immediately to replenish them” (“Preparation for the Second Coming,” 8–9).

The signs of the Second coming are listed more clearly in Joseph Smith--Matthew 1:22-55.
I realized that at the time the Wise Men came looking for the Savior saying, "Where is he that is born King of the Jewsfor we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him."  They had read the prophecies and scriptures that gave the signs of His birth.  They knew...  Now contrast that with the chief Priests and Scribes that were called by Herod to tell him more about... "Hthat is born King of the Jews."  (Herod felt threatened because he was King of the Jews!)  But the point is that the Kings most trusted spiritual advisors "Chief Priests" and those in charge of the records did not recognize the signs!
It is important for us to listen to the Prophets and know the Scriptures for they have power to bless and preserve us in the last days.  The Savior's admonition, "See that ye be not troubled," are given to us as a warning and to prompt us to prepare for his coming!
I have another new favorite scripture: JSM 1:
37 And whoso treasureth up my wordshall not be deceived, for
the Son of Man shall comeand he shall send his angels before him
with the great sound of trumpet, and they shall gather together
the remainder of his elect from the four winds,
from one end of heaven to the other.
READ YOUR SCRIPTURES!
Righteous living prepares us to meet the Savior.  We must live so we can be guided by the Spirit, as He will tell you all things what you should do.
