Then we headed down the road to Baker City. We got in just after dark, but the lights were still on at Tiffanie's house. They had just arrived 10 minutes before us because this is 4-H fair week. Kiylee, , Jessica and Josh all showed pigs Friday morning so we waited until they had all shown their pigs before leaving town. They had the most athletic pigs, trying to show off for their buddies. I think they thought it was a track meet instead of a show ring. The kids had worked so hard with their pigs and I thought they all did well! We are sure proud of them!
Next we drove to Pendleton area to visit with another daughter and her great family.
When we walked into the kitchen my eyes saw a sight I have not seen for many years. Around the big family table were the four oldest kids, dad and Uncle Eli all pealing pears to put into jars. They were excitedly invited us to help...but they were nearly done so we did not help as much as we intended.
This is the fruit room...notice the shelf for the pears. Their hard work should fill it too!
It pleases us to see our children follow the Prophet and be prepared, or at least not hungry! ha ha
Then we had Pizza and pop outside in the shade to relax. It is fun to see our posterity happy and hardworking.
