Sunday was our first day in the mission.  Dean called the Bishop to ask what we could do to help...He asked if there was a list of less actives.  Bishop said he did not have any that were less active in his ward!  WHAT????  Then we attended Sunday morning Ward Council, Bishop asked each council member if they had any temporal or spiritual needs in their stewardship.  No one had any kids with big needs.  One girl had a bike wreck and needed someone to help fix her bike so she could get to work.  I was amazed! This ward would be a Bishop's dream ward.

Saturday night, we did an evening trial run as to how to find the church the Bellevue YSA meet in.  It is a chapel like I have never seen before.  It is one of the older ones and has been added onto several times.  The Chapel is amazing it is huge.  The ceilings are about 30 feet tall!
There are quite a few YSA members, amazingly they are not your run of the mill youth.  These young men and women are about to graduate or have already accomplished their bachelor and master's degrees.  They are well educated and most have really good high paying jobs with Microsoft, Amazon or other big companies.  These great people are self-sufficient and run the organizations of the church very well.  They are dedicated and want to do well...they participate in classes and give great well thought answers.  I am feeling a bit out of my league!  They have regular FHE; Tuesday night Institute; Friday activities or hikes to amazing places.  Saturday is a baptism.  The missionaries are teaching several people with possible baptisms.  How wonderful.  Our Missionaries are great examples and in tune with the Spirit! This will be a stretch for us to identify our places

Then Sunday night we were invited to dinner at our Son and daughter-in-laws.  He cooked chicken and ribs on the grill!  YUM.  Yes, we are continually blessed!

We have a nice apartment.  It is a two bedroom with a washer and dryer and a dishwasher too!  One bedroom is our office/study room.  We live about two blocks from the Seattle Temple.   And the institute building is in back of the Temple.  So we are feeling like we are a bit spoiled!

Dean called to see if we could get an appointment to meet our new Mission President.  He is in the middle of Zone Conferences so it was not a good time to catch him.  So his wife said, just put on your levis and go be tourist for a bit.  Get to know the area and get settled it.  Our supervisor over CES is currently out of town until the 22nd.  So we are keeping busy learning our way around.  The tender mercy of all of this is that our granddaughter is getting married in the Seattle Temple next Friday and we will be able to help prepare for the reception and attend the Temple with the blessings of our leaders.  SWEET! huh?
